Work Portfolio

My work spans clinical care, education, research, entrepreneurship, LEADERSHIP, and digital health innovation.

Here are some projects I’ve built, led, and contributed to — all rooted in a shared mission to expand access to care, empower clinicians, and improve patient outcomes.

Co-Founder and COO: Swallowing Training & Education Portal

STEP is a global online dysphagia education platform I co-founded with swallowing scientist Dr. Ianessa Humbert in 2018. Our mission is to make high-quality, low-cost, evidence-based dysphagia training and education more accessible to speech-language pathologists around the world.

What began as a shared vision to improve dysphagia training has grown into a trusted learning platform, serving over 50,000 clinicians and 200+ universities worldwide. Through online courses, live events, university partnerships, and clinically relevant resources, STEP helps speech-language pathologists build confidence and competence in dysphagia care, helping improve care and outcomes for thousands of patients with swallowing disorders around the world.

FOUNDER: Medical SLP Forum

Medical SLP Forum is a professional online global community I founded in 2012, to create connection, collaboration, and shared learning among medical speech-language pathologists.

What started as a simple online forum has grown into the largest community for medical SLPs, with over 50,000 members who ask questions, share resources, discuss clinical challenges, and support one another to not only succeed, but also help advance medical SLP practice and care.

This community remains free and a volunteer project that I have been dedicated to ever since I created it. It reflects one of my deepest beliefs: clinicians thrive when they have access to trusted information, meaningful connection, and spaces where their expertise is valued and recognized.

Educator and researcher: MGH Institute of Health Professions

At the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, I currently work as a clinical researcher, educator, and professional development coordinator in the department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

My work includes supporting NIH-funded research related to dysphagia and shared decision-making for individuals impacted by ALS, as well as teaching clinicians about non-clinical skills and future-ready careers. I help plan professional development initiatives that allow clinicians to strengthen the skills needed to grow, lead, and adapt in a changing healthcare landscape.

This role allows me to bridge clinical experience, evidence, education, and innovation — preparing SLPs not only for today’s healthcare and education systems, but for the future of the profession.

Director of clinical engagement: bITELABS Digital Health Fellowship

BiteLabs offers a digital health, AI, and innovation fellowship to help healthcare professionals build the skills, confidence, and network needed to engage with digital health, startups, and innovation.

Through my work with BiteLabs as Director of Clinical Engagement, I support allied health professional engagement and education — helping clinicians recognize the value of their expertise in digital health and healthtech innovation settings.

Founder and CEO: Theratactix Digital Health Consulting

Theratactix is a digital health consulting firm that helps healthtech startups, healthcare organizations, and digital health founders build clinically grounded, patient-centered solutions.

I bring over 15 years of clinical expertise, business strategy, and healthcare experience to support founders and teams working at the intersection of care delivery and digital health innovation.

I help digital health companies with clinical, product, go-to-market, and growth strategy — so they can build and scale solutions that are aligned with clinical practice realities.

Since 2023, I have partnered with 50+ companies to turn ideas into impactful healthtech solutions.

Speaking and TRAINING

I speak at national and international conferences, and present to universities and professional communities on topics related to dysphagia, digital health, career development, entrepreneurship, and healthcare innovation.

My trainings are grounded in both clinical expertise and lived experience as a clinician, educator, entrepreneur, and digital health consultant. Whether I’m speaking about swallowing disorders, digital health, or non-clinical career pathways, my goal is always the same: to help clinicians think differently about their value, their impact, and what is possible.
