For a long time, I thought the fact that I didn't follow one single path in this profession was a problem. I had built deep clinical expertise across complex medical settings. I led teams, contributed to research, and showed up fully — for my patients, my students, and my field. By every traditional measure, I was succeeding.
And still, I kept asking myself the same quiet question: Is this all there is?
I wanted more. More ways to contribute. More flexibility. More room to build something that mattered beyond my immediate caseload. I wasn't unhappy with speech-language pathology — I was hungry to expand what it could look like for me. That path didn't exist.
So I created it. Piece by piece, I built a career that included clinical practice, education, research, consulting, and entrepreneurship — all grounded in the clinical foundation I'd spent years developing.
Now I help other SLPs do the same.
